Day 2 - Rocky Mountaineer® - Vancouver to Kamloops
All aboard! A full day of scenic adventure awaits you as your board the Rocky Mountaineer®. Leaving the metropolitan area of Vancouver you are soon traveling through the lush farmlands of the Fraser Valley. Quickly, the ragged peaks of the Coastal and Cascade mountains narrow into the rugged canyons of the Fraser and Thompson Rivers. Watch for the infamous Hells Gate and cheer on the daring rafters as they make their way down the river! By afternoon the train will make its way into the dry interior plateau of British Columbia. Soon the rocky shores of beautiful Kamloops Lake will mark your arrival in the city of Kamloops and your resting place for the night.

Day 3 - Rocky Mountaineer® - Kamloops to Jasper
This morning the Rocky Mountaineer® heads northeast toward the Rockies and Jasper. You will follow the Yellowhead Route along the Thompson River, used over 170 years ago by the fur traders of the Hudson’s Bay Company. Your journey will take you through the Caribou and Monashee Mountains climbing to the Great Divide and viewing Mt Robson, highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies at 12,972 feet. Catching a glimpse of Pyramid Falls, and Moose Lake you will finally enter Jasper National where your rail journey ends in the resort town of Jasper

Day 4 - Jasper to Lake Louise
Today enjoy the sights of one of the most scenic highways in the world as your travel to Lake Louise along the Icefields Parkway. After stopping at the Athabasca Falls you will continue to the summit pass and the massive Columbia Icefield. Ride on the exciting Icefield Explorer, a massive snocoach that will take you to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier. After lunch at the Icefield Chalet (not included) your journey will take you through the Sunwapta River valley. Glaciers, azure blue lakes, spectacular mountains and raging rives surround you. After a stop at picturesque Bow Lake your journey for the day will end at magnificent Lake Louise, “Gem of the Rockies”.
Note: Expected operating dates of the Ice Explorer is April 15 – October 15. If the Ice Explorer is not operating it will be replaced with lunch at Simpson’s Num-Ti-Jah Lodge

Day 5 - Lake Louise to Banff
A wonderful half-day of touring waits you as your travel into Yoho National Park. The Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and the natural rock bridge of the Kicking Horse River are among the many sights. Before you leave the Chateau Lake Louise you will be treated to a one-hour guided lakeshore stroll (Note: you will be required to vacate your room by 11:00 am) This afternoon enjoy s short trip along the beautiful Bow River to the resort town of Banff. The afternoon is free to enjoy this famous Alpine retreat.

You may wish to replace the Yoho Park Tour and guided Lakeshore stroll with a Glacier Helicopter Tour with Ranch Lunch. A $219 CDN per person price supplement will apply.
Glacier Helicopter Tour with Ranch Lunch – Enjoy a 25-minute helicopter flight above the six glaciers of Mount Resolute, Mount Cline and the Whitegoat Peaks. You will also view a 270-metre (900-foot) waterfall, see some spectacular aqua-green high-alpine lakes and cross over a 2,700-metre (9,000-foot) mountain pass. A visit to a local ranch will provide ample time to discover the walking trails on-site and enjoy lunch at your leisure.

Day 6 - Rocky Mountaineer® - Banff to Kamloops
Today you travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer® from Banff to the interior city of Kamloops in British Columbia. This is an incredible day of scenic wonders. Traveling west along the tracks of the Canadian Pacific Railroad the train travels through the Kicking Horse and Rogers Passes, through the famous Spiral Tunnels in Yoho National Park and slows to honour the driving of the last spike of the Trans Continental railway at Craigellachie. Later in the afternoon you will glide through the ranch lands of the interior and along the shorelines of the Shuswap Lakes on your way to the bustling city of Kamloops.

Day 7 - Rocky Mountaineer® - Kamloops to Vancouver
This is a day of dramatic contrasts as you continue to make your way to the Pacific Ocean. Passing along the shores of Kamloops Lake, the train leaves the desert-like environment of the interior behind and plunges down the rugged canyons of the Thompson and Fraser Rivers. Watch for the bright coloured river rafts as they charge recklessly down the rapids and through the foaming waters of Hells Gate. The rugged canyons give way to the snow-capped peaks of the Cascade and Coastal mountains. Soon you are traveling through the lush fields of the Fraser Valley on your final journey to the beautiful coastal city of Vancouver.

Day 8 - Vancouver Departure
