Day 2 - Rocky Mountaineer® - Vancouver to Kamloops
All aboard! A full day of scenic adventure awaits you as your board the Rocky Mountaineer®. Leaving the metropolitan area of Vancouver you are soon traveling through the lush farmlands of the Fraser Valley. Quickly, the ragged peaks of the Coastal and Cascade mountains narrow into the rugged canyons of the Fraser and Thompson Rivers. Watch for the infamous Hells Gate and cheer on the daring rafters as they make their way down the river! By afternoon the train will make its way into the dry interior plateau of British Columbia. Soon the rocky shores of beautiful Kamloops Lake will mark your arrival in the city of Kamloops and your resting place for the night.

Day 3 - Rocky Mountaineer® - Kamloops to Banff
As you enjoy your breakfast, get ready for another remarkable array of scenery as the train makes its way across British Columbia and into the province of Alberta. The day includes a myriad of beautiful ranch lands, rocky lakeshores, high mountain passes and rugged river valleys. Highlights include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the Kicking Horse Pass, the world famous Spiral Tunnels and of course the glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Your unforgettable rail journey ends in the resort town of Banff this evening.

Day 4 - Banff Sightseeing
The highlights of Banff will be featured in your 3-hour sightseeing tour this morning. Among the highlights will be stops at Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka, the Hoodoos and Surprise Corner. You will also have time to travel to the top of 7500 ft. Sulphur Mountain in and enclosed gondola. The afternoon is free for additional adventures or more leisurely activities like shopping, visiting the museums or enjoying one of Banff’s fine restaurants.

Day 5 - Banff to Lake Louise
Get ready for an exciting day of adventure and spectacular scenery. A half-day tour from Banff to Lake Louise will give you a great overview of the history that envelops this area. The Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and the natural rock bridge of the Kicking Horse River are among the many sights. The tour ends in Lake Louise where you will be treated to a one-hour guided lakeshore stroll. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure to enjoy this magnificent location.

You may wish to replace the Yoho Park Tour and guided Lakeshore stroll with a Glacier Helicopter Tour with Ranch Lunch. A $219 CDN per person price supplement will apply.
Glacier Helicopter Tour with Ranch Lunch – Enjoy a 25-minute helicopter flight above the six glaciers of Mount Resolute, Mount Cline and the Whitegoat Peaks. You will also view a 270-metre (900-foot) waterfall, see some spectacular aqua-green high-alpine lakes and cross over a 2,700-metre (9,000-foot) mountain pass. A visit to a local ranch will provide ample time to discover the walking trails on-site and enjoy lunch at your leisure.

Day 6 - Lake Louise at leisure
You have a full day to enjoy this “Gem of the Rockies” at your leisure. Walk around the Lake, take an energetic hike to the famous teahouse, relax in the world famous Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise spa or enjoy a peaceful canoe ride on the lake.

Day 7 - Lake Louise to Jasper
Today will be one of the most spectacular days of the trip as you travel in Banff and Jasper National Parks along the Icefields Parkway. The highway winds its way through river valleys and over two mountain passes on its way to Jasper. The highlights of the day will include Bow Lake, the Columbia Icefield and Athabasca Falls. You will have the opportunity of riding on and Ice Explorer vehicle that will take you to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier, part of the largest accumulation of ice south of the Arctic Circle. Along the way keep a look out for wildlife including bears, elk, mountain goats and moose. The ragged peaks of the mountains are covered with glaciers and the waters of the lakes and rivers are a vivid azure blue. You will arrive in the historic resort community of Jasper later in the afternoon.
Note: Expected operating dates of the Ice Explorer is April 15 – October 15. If the Ice Explorer is not operating it will be replaced with lunch at Simpson’s Num-Ti-Jah Lodge

Day 8 – VIA Rail – Alberta
This morning you will have time to explore the town of Jasper or take an optional cruise on Maligne Lake or a rafting trip down the Athabasca River. This afternoon you board VIA Rail’s Canadian for the beginning of your 3-day journey across Canada to Toronto. As dinner is served, relax and enjoy the great scenery and fine hospitality of your Silver and Blue service.

Day 9 – VIA Rail – Saskatchewan / Manitoba / Ontario
After a hearty breakfast with your traveling companions, make your way to the dome car and watch the vast landscape of Canada’s Prairie Provinces slips by. The ranch lands and oil wells of Alberta soon give way to the golden wheat fields of Saskatchewan and many rivers and lakes of Manitoba.

Day 10 – VIA Rail – Ontario / Arrive Toronto
The scenery changes dramatically as the Canadian makes its way into the province of Ontario. Vast forests, remote mining communities, and surging rivers and lakes are abundant. Soon the stunning skyline of Canada’s largest city, Toronto looms on the horizon. The world famous CN Tower welcomes you and your fellow travelers.

Day 11 - Toronto and Niagara Falls
What a way to end a great trip! Today you will be taken on a narrated day tour to Niagara Falls. You will enjoy a boat ride on the “Maid of the Mist" to the foot of the falls for a spectacular, close up view. Lunch is also included in today's tour. Return to Toronto early this evening.
Note: The Journey Behind the Falls or the Imax Theatre is substituted if the Maid of the Mist is not operating.
