Day 1 - Arrive Vancouver
Arrive in Vancouver, transfer by private vehicle (on own) from the Vancouver International Airport to the Long Beach Lodge Resort. You will travel by ferry from Horseshoe Bay in North Vancouver to Nanaimo's Departure Bay. As you continue your journey to Tofino, you will travel through spectacular old-growth forests - Cathedral Grove is well worth a visit - across the central Island to the Pacific Rim.

Day 2 & 3 - Winter Storm Watching & Exploring
Winter in Tofino can be filled with sunny days, blue skies, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, big waves, soft grey days and fabulous storm watching waves splashing on rocks. Storm watching season extends from November to March. During the storm watching season there are usually 10-15 good storms each month with the peak months of December-February sure to pack the most whoppers. Storm watching is a relatively new tourism phenomenon on the West Coast of Vancouver Island and doesn't really require anything of the observer but stillness and wonder. Storm watching is best advantaged from ocean-fronting hotels where a good book, a fireplace and maybe a down duvet across your lap are really all you need to experience the fury and the force of the pounding Pacific Ocean on the other side of your rattling, double paned window. Or for the more adventurous, head out into the storm to experience the power of the wind, to observe the giant waves, and to hear the symphony of the wind and waves.
Today is yours to explore all that the area has to offer. At the resort, you can enjoy strolling along the beach or enjoy a spa treatment. You will also want to visit the town of Tofino. There are many excellent restaurants, pubs and cafes. You can also enjoy browsing in art galleries and gift shops featuring local artisans. The area is renowned for whale watching as Pacific Gray Whales pass through the area in the spring and fall.

Day 4 - Depart Tofino
Depart Long Beach Lodge Resort and travel back to the Vancouver International Airport in time for your flight home.
