SUN PEAKS WINTER RAIL ADVENTURE

Day 1 - Arrive Edmonton / Evening in the Park Tour
Upon arrival in Edmonton, transfer by private sedan to your hotel for check-in.

This evening you will embark on an 'Evening in the Park' tour.This adventure takes you to view the natural beauty of Elk Island National Park in its winter setting, a prairie oasis where moose, bison, elk, & deer live in their natural habitat. It was an area highly valued by Canada's First Nations people because of the rich resources of bison and beaver.

Day 2 -VIA Rail - Edmonton to Kamloops / Transfer to Sun Peaks Resort
This afternoon you will transfer by private sedan to the VIA Rail Station where you will board VIA Rail to Kamloops. You will travel aboard Via Rail's Canadian through the picturesque country of central Alberta, into the foothills and the Rocky Mountains. Experience the Canadian Rockies by train and enjoy the exhilarating winter wonderland as you travel through Jasper National Park. Your final destination tonight is the town of Kamloops, located in British Columbia's Thompson Okanagan region. Upon arrival, at approximately 10:30pm, you will transfer by private limousine to the European-inspired village of Sun Peaks, located 45 minutes north of Kamloops, With breathtaking views on all sides, this European-style village is a gorgeous setting from sunrise to sundown, any time of year.

Day 3 - Day at Leisure / Evening Sleigh Ride
Remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy this European-style village. You will have complimentary access to the fully equipped Health Club. The Health Club has an indoor entrance to a heated outdoor pool, 3 outdoor hot tubs, sauna, steam room, exercise room, and 2 massage rooms. Before bedtime, you will be treated to room service featuring a chocolate fondue and specialty coffees (1 per person).

'Sleigh bells ring, are you listening'' This evening you will experience an old-fashioned sleigh rides along the snow covered trails of the beautiful village. Enjoy a romantic ride for two as your sleigh glides behind massive but gentle horses for your half hour ride. Cozy blankets are handed out as your new friends whinny softly. Then you're off on a magical ride. This is a great way to get close to each other and live the traditions of the Old West. And there are plenty of opportunities to snap great photos before you jingle your way back to the hotel.

Wilderness Trek Dog Sledding Tour
This morning is your chance to experience a truly 'Northern' activity. Hook up and race your own team of Alaskan Huskies through the glistening white snow of Sun Peaks. Your professional guides will give you a complete rundown on everything you need to know before you are on your way. The 'Wilderness Trek' lasts approximately 2 hours and mushes over 12km of wilderness.

Day 4 - Snowmobile Tour with Wienie Roast / VIA Rail - Kamloops to Vancouver
Morning at leisure. In the late afternoon you will enjoy a 2 hour snowmobile tour with an outdoor wienie roast. Is a great way to be intimate with nature. You can smell the fresh air and feel the sun on your face. Find out why the Sun Peaks experience will take you back to nature. You will receive a 15 minute orientation, safety instruction, helmet, insurance, boots and jackets.

Note: The Snowmobile Tour operates weather permitting. If the tour is not operating, it will be removed from the package.

This evening you will depart Sun Peaks and transfer by private limousine to the Kamloops Train Station in time for your departure aboard VIA Rail at 10:45pm. Tonight, you will experience Silver & Blue class aboard VIA Rail's 'Canadian'. Enjoy private bedroom accommodation.

Note: You will have a Day Room at the Delta Sun Peaks Resort to use until your departure in the evening to Kamloops Train Station.

Day 5 - Arrive Vancouver / North Shore - Vancouver's Winter Playground Tour
In the early morning the train will arrive in Vancouver. Upon arrival in Vancouver, you will transfer by private limousine to your hotel. At the hotel, you will store your luggage with the bell desk and depart on a 5.5 hour tour while you wait for your hotel check-in time. Your Vancouver's North Shore tour begins as you travel from Stanley Park and across the Lions Gate Bridge to North Vancouver. You will continue to the Grouse Mountain, you will take aSky Ride to the top of the mountain where you will enjoy the panoramic and spectacular views from the mountaintop. Winter comes alive on an enchanting sleigh ride through Grouse Mountain's snowy paradise. This is a memorable journey around the mountaintop through snow-covered forests. This is what memories are made of. You will have approximately 2 hours play time on top where you can enjoy optional activities such as snowshoeing, ice skating, or skiing. In the afternoon, you will Swing 230 feet above the Capilano River as you cross the Capilano Suspension Bridge. You will also experience the new Tree Top Adventure, Treetops offers visitors a squirrel's eye view of a thriving coastal forest, as they venture from one magnificent Douglas fir tree to another via a series of elevated suspension bridges, some reaching as high as 100 feet above the forest floor. In the late afternoon, you will return to your hotel.

Day 6 - Depart Vancouver
Today you will transfer by private sedan from your hotel to the Vancouver International Airport in time for your flight departure home.
