Edmonton & Evening in the Park Tour
Upon
arrival in Edmonton, transfer by private sedan to your hotel for check-in.
This evening you
will embark on an 'Evening in the Park' tour.This
adventure takes you to view the natural beauty of Elk Island
National Park in its winter setting, a prairie oasis where moose, bison, elk,
& deer live in their natural habitat.
It was an area highly valued by Canada's First Nations people
because of the rich resources of bison and beaver.

Day 2 - VIA
Rail Snow Train - Edmonton to Jasper
This morning you will transfer by private sedan to the VIA Rail
Station where you will board the Via Rail to Jasper.
You will travel through the picturesque country of central
Alberta, into the foothills and the Rocky Mountains. Experience
the Canadian Rockies by train and enjoy the exhilarating
winter wonderland that is Jasper
National Park. Upon
arrival, you will take a short taxi ride (on own) to
your hotel.
Maligne Canyon Icewalk
Embark
on a tour of one of the most spectacular areas of Jasper
National Park. This evening your tour guide will
pick you up at your hotel and take you on an evening adventure.
Travel through the frozen ice falls and ice caves of Maligne Canyon. Descend beneath the ice in this unique
tour. Guides take you down beneath the frozen surface of the Maligne river, don't worry the water levels have dropped with
the freeze, leaving a magical world of ice formations and
shelves.
It's a whole different world down
there, especially in the moonlight! (7:00pm
departure)
Note: Maligne Canyon Icewalk operates from December 15 to April
1 - weather permitting. If the tour is not operating, it will be removed
from your package.

- Ski
Marmot Basin OR Ride The Steel Rails Train Tour
Today you will have your choice of Skiing at Marmot Basin,
or for the Non-Skier enjoy the Ride The Steel Rails Train Tour.
Skier -
Spend the day
skiing Marmot Basin, discover the superb variety of terrain
and the spectacular
Rocky
Mountain
scenery. Only 20 minutes from the town of Jasper,
Marmot
Basin
provides 84 named trails on over 1,675 acres of terrain
supported by world class facilities. The mountain offers 3,000
vertical feet of skiing and snowboarding on 100% natural, dry,
Rocky
Mountain
powder. The ski area's modern lift system carries 11,931
skiers uphill per hour and
Marmot
Basin
is one of the least crowded ski areas of its size in all of
North America. From long, gentle, winding novice runs, to steep, high
alpine bowls and chutes, skiers and snowboarders of all
abilities will find what they are looking for at
Marmot
Basin. Large, snow filled bowls are paradise for powder skiers and
snowboarders.
Non-Skier
- All Aboard! Experience the famous Canadian adventure on the VIA Rail "Skeena"
with a 2-hour train journey though mountain passes, sparkling frozen lakes and
Jagged snow-covered peaks. Ride the rails over the Yellowhead Pass, the
border between Alberta and British Columbia. After disembarking, in the
quaint village of Dunster, meet your guide and travel back to Jasper along the
historic Yellowhead Highway and Fraser River. A stop will be made at the
magnificent Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. This
can be an excellent
tour for seeing moose, eagles, deer, elk and coyotes.

Day 4 - Ski
Marmot Basin OR Snowshoeing: The Discovery Tour
Today you will
have your choice of Skiing at Marmot Basin, or for the
Non-Skier take park in Showshoeing: The Discovery Tour.

Spend another day skiing Marmot
Basin.
Non-Skier
- Today embark on an adventure in snowshoeing. With your guide explore a
more pristine area of Jasper
National Park. While Identifying animal tracks listen to the winter song
of the chickadee, smell the pine forest on a warm day or hear the 'crispness' of
an early winter morning.
Note: Snowshoeing tour operates from Early December to the end
of March, weather permitting. If it is not operating, it will be removed
from your package.

Day 5 - Ski

Come and enjoy the beauty of the striking Maligne Valley in Winter. The tour
includes a short walk around the top of Maligne Canyon, then a scenic drive up
the valley past the mysterious disappearing Medicine Lake to Maligne Lake. The
wildlife in winter can include moose, caribou, bull elk, big horn sheep, wolves,
coyotes and more!

Day 6

Rail Snow
Train - Jasper to Edmonton
You have
the morning at leisure before transferring (on own) to the VIA Rail Station
for your early afternoon departure back to Edmonton. You
will arrive back in Edmonton at approximately 5:30pm and
transfer by private sedan back to your hotel. You can
spend the evening exploring the world's largest
shopping/attraction complex, offering over 800 stores and
services. Visit the
Las Vegas
style
Palace Casino, skate at the Ice
Palace, play miniature golf at Professor WEM's Adventure
Golf, Putt 'n Glow or see
marine life at the Sea Life Caverns and Sea Trek.
