NORTHBOUND ITINERARY
Day 1 – Sail from Seattle
This morning, transfer to your yacht and meet the crew over champagne and hors d’oeuvres. This evening you’ll set your course for Alaska.

Days 2 to 6 - The San Juan Islands and Canadian Inside Passage
You’ll wander through the San Juan Islands then visit the “boaters’ haven” of Friday Harbor before departing for Canadian waters. This is a great place to search for orca whales, seals, sea lions and bears along the route. Your journey takes us through the protected waters between the mainland and Vancouver Island passing the cities of Nanaimo, Campbell River and the native village of Alert Bay. Traveling through the “Inside Passage” you’ll get a feel for the isolation of the coastal villages as you pass by. Your Expedition Leader will lead nature hikes, and kayaking excursions, and you’ll enjoy a First Nations dance performance in a cedar planked big house. Farther north, you’ll step ashore with Naturalists from the Raincoast Conservation Society and explore the Great Bear Rainforest of British Columbia.

Day 7 – Prince Rupert, British Columbia
Prince Rupert is British Columbia’s northernmost port along our route. A bustling seaport, Prince Rupert offers the shortest route to Asia for commercial goods being shipped in and out of North America. Enjoy a historic sightseeing and museum tour and get to know this friendly community. You’ll stay dockside tonight to enable you to enjoy this historic city in the evening.

Days 8 to 10 - Alaska Towns and Passages
Discover the cultural heritage of Alaska’s Tlingit Indians on a guided tour of the Saxman Village in Ketchikan. This will be your last port of call in a large city for the next few days. Now is the time to settle into the solitude of hidden Alaska passages as you cruise northward. You’ll stop at Meyer’s Chuck, a hide-away village of less than 50 full time residents, then continue north with lots of opportunities to kayak, watch for eagles and seals, whales and porpoise.
Traveling though Canoe Pass you’ll stop in Petersburg, famous for its Russian heritage. Here a local guide will show you the town and relate some first-hand stories and experiences of life in this community.

Days 11 & 12 - Fjords and Hot Springs
Sailing north from Petersburg you’ll spend two days in the wildest, most pristine corners of Alaska. You’ll paddle our kayaks in remote fjords, hike to natural hot springs, wander through the temperate rain forest of Southern Alaska and explore some of the most scenic, hidden gems one can find in Alaska.

Days 13 & 14 - Glacier National Park
Tidewaters sweep like rivers of ice down massive mountain valleys, terminating in the waters of Glacier Bay. This is one of the most spectacular places in Alaska where raw beauty and geological history meet. Unlike the big cruise ships, you will be able to cruise in this area for two days. You’ll enjoy evenings at anchor in hidden coves and mornings paddling our kayaks in the quiet of this majestic wilderness. Along the way you’ll search for puffins, mountain goats, bears and whales. To top off our trip, you’ll celebrate our last night with a festive Farewell Dinner.

Day 15 – Juneau Alaska
After breakfast, you’ll arrive in historic Juneau, capital city of the state of Alaska. A transfer to the Juneau airport of local hotel is included.
